The Canada Council for the Arts, a founding EcoDistrict Champion hosted the network’s launch at their space in Performance Court, located at 150 Elgin Street and targeting LEED Gold Core + Shell certification.
The event marked the launch of a network of 29 local businesses and organizations that have committed to making the downtown core more sustainable. The network is growing and will be a driving force to transforming downtown operations by performing sustainability assessments and participating in think-tank style discussions.
Speakers included Ottawa Centre MP Paul Dewar, Ottawa Centre MPP Yasir Naqvi, Councillor David Chernushenko on behalf of Mayor Jim Watson, and Somerset Ward Councillor Catherine McKenney.
