Golder Associates go GREEN
Golder Associates is aware that their success, and the success of their clients, is increasingly dependent on embedding sustainable development principles into their projects and activities.
The Ottawa Sustainability Committee (OSC) has a successful track record of sustainability initiatives. Their focus has been on waste management including composting programs and engaging employees through educational sessions. Their kitchen is equipped with either reusable utensils, bowls, plates and mugs and compostable alternatives for events. The OSC has custom signage made for their waste receptacles so that employees and guests are aware of all changes made.
The Ottawa office consumes over 200 cups of coffee a day and with a k-cup system that is a fair amount of waste. So the OSC investigated options to the k-cup system and found a greener alternative.
Black Gold Coffee (BGC) was the answer to the OSC’s worries. BGC offers coffee services in Ottawa and their very own sustainable single cup coffee system. Compostable pods replace the plastic cups of the alternative system. The coffee pods are made in Canada and produce 96% less waste than traditional k-cups.
