The news of our Cycle In report was shared by CBC Ottawa with an interview at the intersection of Beechwood and MacKay – one of the “pinch points” identified by volunteer riders. The report also includes best cycling stretches to get downtown and how we can connect safe and scenic paths.
Listen to the conversation with Hallie Cotnam here:
In the interview, OCED Executive Director Don Grant talks about the quick fixes like improving road paint and signs – and larger-scale improvements like rethinking how we share space on bridges. He also touched on the number of good stories shared by cyclists. People really enjoy riding their bikes in Ottawa and they brought their insights and observations – beyond just listing complaints. We are working to boost cycling modal share and that means creating a safe and easy ride to get new cyclists excited about biking.
