The power of volunteers
From top to bottom, the EcoDistrict program is supported by volunteers. The whole idea is to bring people into the conversation and then right out onto the street – so to speak – and into action.
Our goal is to energize and mobilize residents, and go beyond standard consultation practices. We want to get you thinking about what kind of change you’d like to see in Ottawa’s core, and what role you see yourself playing in that change.
When we scoured Ottawa’s downtown core this past August, counting every surface level bicycle parking spot in less than two hours, we were reminded once again of the power of volunteers.
Great things happen when we work together. We encourage you to be part of the EcoDistrict team by coming out and volunteering with us.
We ask you to register because it helps us determine how we can best tap into your skills and experience. We ask for the basic contact information – email and phone – and then about what you would like to do. We also want to know about your special skills – race car driver, master organizer, born salesperson – and how much time you have to dedicate to the cause.
Once you have completed the registration process we will contact you and begin working to find you the perfect volunteer opportunity.
Already helped us with a project? Take note of your efforts by recording your contributions. Tracking volunteer hours gives us a better sense of the projects we can take on in the future and it’s important for reporting to our supporters.
